    Completely worth the money!

Microsoft Surface is the premier tablet-like computer. This is my second one. I bought one when Microsoft first made them. The machine is properly priced for the value you get. “Price is what you pay, and value is what you get.” This saying is totally apropos. The machine is super fast, high quality, and has a very pleasing aesthetic. I am fully satisfied, completely & utterly comfortable with my purchase. If you value speed & quality, you also will be delighted. Never take the least expensive route when buying a computer. Ps. The battery is amazing, and because I had a prior surface, the set up was beyond easy.

Microsoft Surface Pro 2-in-1 Laptop/Tablet (2024) – Perfect Blend of Power & Portability!

I recently purchased the Microsoft Surface Pro 2-in-1 Laptop/Tablet (2024) for my wife, who works in marketing and sales. She’s constantly writing reports, generating Excel spreadsheets, and analyzing customer data, and we needed something that could keep up with her demanding tasks. After using it for a few weeks, I can confidently say this device is a game-changer!The 13″ touchscreen is sharp and responsive, making it easy for her to work on detailed reports and spreadsheets. The Snapdragon X Plus processor with 10 cores delivers smooth performance, even when running multiple apps or handling data-heavy tasks. With 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, the device has more than enough power to handle her workload without slowing down. One of the standout features for my wife is how well the Surface Pro integrates with AI to streamline her work. She’s been able to use AI tools for data analysis, report generation, and even customer insights, saving her hours of manual work each week. It’s truly enhanced her productivity in a way I didn’t expect. As for battery life, it’s outstanding. She’s able to work all day on a single charge, which is a huge plus since she often has back-to-back meetings and doesn’t want to worry about plugging in constantly.A couple of things to note: You’ll definitely want to get the keyboard and mouse (sold separately) to get the full experience of using this as a laptop. It’s incredibly versatile as a tablet, but when paired with the keyboard, it feels like a full-fledged laptop. That said, the keyboard and mouse are not cheap, which is something to keep in mind.In summary, the Microsoft Surface Pro 2-in-1 is an excellent choice for people who need the power and functionality of a laptop but want the convenience of a tablet. If you’re looking for something that blends premium performance with portability, this is the device to get. Highly recommended!

A reliable, energy efficient machine with a great monitor.

Specific ARM64 software is required.I am using this for work and study. The battery life is incredible compared to legacy Microsoft architecture machines. There are some things that regular consumers need to know before buying these devices. Major software developers such as Microsoft, Google and some VPNs work well, others do not. You may want to do some research. They are Microsoft ARM 64 machines so legacy x86 and x64 software will not work. Some adjustments need to be made. Microsoft has just made this move in the last few years so it will take a while for smaller 3rd party software companies to catch up.The OLED screen is bright and looks great.

Good device, but beware of ARM architecture on this generation

There is a lot to like about a Surface. The form factor is terrific and I find both the keyboard and charger excellent. Battery life is good. My uses are primarily email, documents, and web. (no heavy CPU or RAM utilizers). BUT with the ARM based Snapdragon architecture, there are applications and drivers which are not supported. Google drive for desktop is not, and Google does not plan on supporting. This has really impacted the usability of the device for me in places without wifi or poor wifi. Had I known this I probably would have gone with a Chromebook 2 in 1, as these have really come a long way and it would have been much cheaper. The second issue is that I have had reliability issues with prior Surface devices. So I would consider the extended service plan. For this reason alone, it is better to purchase the device at Amazon rather than from Microsoft directly. The third party insurance is MUCH cheaper and seems comparable. One would think Microsoft support would be better and the customer experience on the Microsoft store to be good, but this has not been my experience. So outside of these, I do love this device so far and have found the functionality good.UPDATE after 6 weeks of use.I still like the device quite a bit, and a key advantage of the Snapdragon set up is the long battery life. However, a few other issues have arisen. This is mostly minor stuff, BUT Microsoft has not provided much in the way of support on the forums and despite a large number of other users with the same issue. For example, on start up, the keyboard is not recognized by the device until the keyboard is dethatched and reattached. An external screen does not allow night light even though it is present on the main device screen. Neither of these were issues with my Surface 8. The boot up on this device is MUCH longer on this device than my old Surface 8 (and yes, I minimized start up apps and all the other things to address this). Things should get better with next generations, not worse.

    A long-awaited dream come true

I’ve wanted a Surface Pro for years, and when Prime Day rolled around, I knew it was finally time to make the move, especially at the lowest price the 2-in-1 had ever hit. I picked up the black color model with the Snapdragon X Plus, 16GB RAM, and 512GB storage, and I haven’t looked back yet.My idea of an ideal laptop has always been something that truly fits in your lap, and the 13″ size is perfect for that. I’ve used 13-inch laptops for as long as I can remember because they strike the right balance between portability and functionality and this Surface Pro keeps that tradition alive while also changing the game. It’s a laptop and tablet in one, and although the built-in kickstand is still something I’m adjusting to, the trade-off is more than worth it. Being able to use this as both a laptop and tablet with a responsive touchscreen has definitely been a unique benefit to get used to.The device is insanely light and portable, and it stays cool and quiet no matter what I throw at it. I have yet to hear any noticeable noise from it, which is rare in a device this powerful. To make it function more like a traditional laptop, I also picked up a few accessories: a matching Surface Pro Keyboard in black, Slim Pen 2, a USB to USB-C adapter, and a headphone jack adapter. While it wasn’t cheap to get everything, the overall experience has made it more than worth it.The standout feature is by far the battery life. Unless I’m running a heavy program or connecting to an external display via HDMI, the battery lasts longer than I ever expected. It’s genuinely impressive and easily the best I’ve seen from any laptop I’ve owned. My only hesitation lies with the ARM-based Snapdragon processor. On one hand, I love what ARM processors are doing for battery life and performance; just like Apple’s shift to silicon, it’s clearly the future. But not all programs have made the transition yet. I’ve been lucky that most of what I use is ARM-compatible, but a few programs I used on my old laptop just don’t work anymore. It’s a bit of a bummer, but I think I waited long enough that the majority of what I need does work.Overall, this Surface Pro has exceeded my expectations. It’s sleek, fast, ridiculously portable, and ready for anything I throw at it (ARM-growing pains and all).

Best 2 in 1 laptop ever

Its an amazing laptop. My nephews loves it and says its easy to use and comfortable typing. It’s a great size for the money but worth every penny. It’s brand new so I dont know about the battery yet but the screen quality and things you can do on here are absolutely amazing.

Beautiful design, Keyboard not included which is deceptive

I feel like a fool, I bought this Surface Pro on whim as I needed a new computer. I saw the ads on Amazon and I love AI to make my life easier so I was instantly sold. I didn’t realize that the keyboard and pen were sold separately as the photos, videos on the Amazon listing are misleading as they all show the attached keyboard. I had to purchase the keyboard and pen separate and that was an additional $300 I wasn’t planning on spending. Amazon should change the listing photo to show only the Surface Pro tablet without the keyboard and make more clear that the keyboard is separate. I have never used a Surface before so I had no idea. Here are my thoughts 24 hours into owning this computer/tablet:Pros: Sleek, elegant design. I absolutely love the blue color that I purchased, it’s gorgeous. The screen resolution and colors are fantastic. I am a digital artist and it perfectly displays my artwork. The facial recognition and pin entry are so easy to set up and use, very similar to a phone so I really like that. The video camera for online meetings is very good quality and I like the blur background feature that is built in. Copilot is very useful and I can see it helping me in my business, setting reminders, giving me ideas, writing captions for social media and more. I’m a big ChatGPT fan so having copilot built in with the push of a button simplifies and makes my life easier. It’s very quiet, no loud fan, doesn’t over heat. The battery life is amazing, hours watching YouTube, videos with moderate to high brightness the battery is lasting all day! It’s very portable and easy to carry around. And I enjoy it better than my work computer. The built in stand is nice and I was able to connect my mouse to it without issue via Bluetooth. The customization options and adding colors are super fun and my home screen looks beautiful.Cons: While I am big on AI and productivity, I still value my privacy and the fact that there isn’t an optional camera from lense cover is very annoying. I bought one to add but I think it might mess with the facial recognition so yeah I guess I won’t be walking around in my underwear in front of the computer lol. Second, the laptop froze yesterday when I tried to download Google Drive yesterday and I now understand that they are not compatible which by the way is a big miss. I do not want a Chromebook but I do want to use Google photos to backup my artwork and that is a defect that they are not compatible. But worse is that within less than 2 hours of having this laptop it froze and I had to manually restart, that is a huge red flag. I have been using it all day today and haven’t had that issue to I’m hoping to write it off to the fact that things were still updating yesterday when this occured. I believe that for the money 512 GB of storage is absurdly low. The blue color was not available in 1 TB. My phone has more storage than that lol. The Cocreate option was an interesting selling point featuring AI art capability and on my gosh, what a joke that is. It’s an add on to the paint app and the art or generates is very low quality, which I won’t be using. They made a big deal out of this advertising in the video and on Microsoft’s homepage but honestly it’s ridiculous. I’m hoping I can use the pen for other things with the Surface. For now I’m still undecided if I will be keeping this machine. I’m going to use for a few more days and determine if it’s worth the money of if I’m better off with a $400 laptop that will do everything that I need. I will update this review as I discover more pros and cons too.

Great for notetaking and moving around

I bought this to help me take handwritten notes for work as well as just having a tablet like device for casual browsing and usage. The handwriting recognition is excellent and integrates with OneNote perfectly. Whether keeping handwritten notes or later converting to text, this does the trick and makes them searchable (when converted to text).I haven’t found it overheating nor lagging, but I am also not using it to play serious games or graphic intensive applications, so I can’t speak to high end performance. For day to day it is great. The size is perfect as I don’t want a full laptop nor a small notebook.

    Great Purchase

Hands down great product. This is my second surface pro only because my first one was so old it could not be update to windows 11. Honestly, I’m glad it couldn’t because this one is much better than my old pro 4. Powering on takes a few seconds. The clarity of the screen is amazing, the smooth transition between apps no lags, battery life is amazing, and I dont feel any heat coming from the device. My biggest complaint is the keyboard sold separately. I purchased the keyboard and pen combo from Best Buy and it is very sleek feel, with a back light and is easy to use. Old keyboards from previous surface pros will not fit the new surface pro. The value is worth it. Not disappointed.
