    Shockingly Effective Massager!!!

I saw all the good reviews so thought I’d give this a try.I’ve been suffering from severe pain in one side of my upper back (right rhomboid) for over 3 years. My doctors injected me, gave me muscle relaxants, and told me to keep doing the yoga I had already been doing daily for years. All to no avail. They chalked it up to an extremely tight and spasming muscle, exacerbated by constant and extreme stress and too much sitting.Since I can’t afford regular massages, I would just suffer for weeks and then take a muscle relaxant every once in a while for slight and very temporary relief.AND THEN I FOUND MY FIX WITH THIS LITTLE MASSAGER!!!I used this for the first time for about 20 minutes just on my upper back, with the heat on. It’s a good heat, not too hot but definitely not a tepid warm. It really helps to loosen up the muscles.I then turned off the heat and used it for 20 minutes on my mid and lower back. By the end, i felt a bit loosened up, but also a little sore. The next day, my back was sore, but in a really good way. Like someone had given me a deep tissue massage. As I was walking around that day, I suddenly noticed that my back didn’t hurt! There was NO pain! This was the first day in over 3 years that I wasn’t in pain. I was shocked.I kept using the massager for 20 minutes a day for a few days, then switched to every other day, and now every few days. I am amazed that my back doesn’t hurt anymore. It gets a little tight and I use this and holy cow, relief!I strongly recommend this little guy. I had little faith that it would do much, and I am so amazed and happy and ahhhhhh…Great product!!!!

Packaging it pretty simple, doesn’t come with a whole lot of …

I am currently 7 1/2 months pregnant and this thing works wonders on my back. I suffer from sciatic nerve pain and this has all but eliminated it.Packaging it pretty simple, doesn’t come with a whole lot of instructions but I don’t think this is something that needs a 30 page booklet. Some might overlook this massager over others because it lacks a support strap but honestly I don’t think those support straps would work to well at keeping something of this size in place. The item is small yet bulky but that is because the modules that massage ur back are big and move in different directions so I’ll take a bulky item that does the job over something little that barely feels like it makes an impact. Only reason this isn’t getting 5 stars is due to the ‘warming feature’. To activate said feature you are supposed to press the same button that switches the nodules directions and hold it for 3 seconds to activate the feature. However there is no sound or indication that the feature has been activated and it barely gets warm. Obviously you don’t want people burning themselves but even if there could be like a sound or something to let you know that it’s on would be nice. The device does come with an automatic shut off feature that makes it turn off after 20 mins which some may seem as a con but I think it’s a good safety feature not only for the person using it but for the condition of the machine itself. Because I did notice after using it for several hours in a row ( meaning I’d turn it on for 20 mins every hour) I started to feel my back get more sensitive to the nodules even though I was applying the same amount of pressure to it. Not to mention using something to much can shorten its life span.Overall worth the money!

Best massage, close to human contact.

Absolutely love this massager. Got it 4 days ago and I have used it for about 10 minutes every day. I purchased it because I get headaches primarily due to my neck. I am so relaxed afterwards, I’m ready for bed.Easy to charge, easy to use, 3 settings for intensity, and heat can be added. Well worth the money. Next time I wake up with a stiff neck or slept wrong, this will be my go to help. Hopefully I can cut down on going to the chiropractor.

Unfortunately, it’s biggest flaw is the most important component.

This is probably the nerdiest, most detailed review I’ve ever left. But I think it might be helpful.I bought one of these to use at my desk at work. I work out a lot, and I routinely have a lot of muscle soreness in my back/shoulders/hamstrings, which are the areas that these massagers are most useful. At home, I have a Mynt Cordless Pillow Massager, which is why I am rating this particular Etekcity at 3 stars. We love it. I’ve had friends and family but one after trying it out. But I don’t use the battery option much, and I was intrigued by the reviews left for the Etekcity, so I thought I’d give it a try.In my opinion, the Etekcity is inferior to the Mynt. And it’s for one main reason (and arguably the most important reason): – The rotating balls/massagers on the Etekcity are not very comfortable. The Etekcity only has one main perk: the car charger. That is useful. But to its credit, the Mynt will work in the car on battery power. But (and it’s a big ‘but’), the Mynt’s power is moderately reduced when running on battery. And considering the size of battery we are fitting in tiny cell phones now, I’m a bit disappointed with the 2600mAh capacity of the Mynt; there’s room for a bigger one.The Etekcity’s massaging heads feature a 4 pronged approach (vs the Mynt’s 2-prong). It’s one large ball, one medium sized ball, and two smaller balls. The issue here is that the amount of pressure you use (the amount of weight you push against the massager) is going to be defined by the largest ball. If you push hard when you feel the small/medium one rolling by, by the time the large ball rolls into place, you’re either in agony (the large one now digs too deep) or the machine slows to a crawl (the amount of pressure is too much for the motors). Your pressure is defined by the size/location of the largest massaging prong. The Mynt has two equally large massaging prongs/balls, each located across from the other on the massaging head. So you get a consistent pressure with the rotation, which allows you to easily determine the weight in which to lean. The Etekcity’s cover is also very thin, and I feel like the prongs/balls are more pointed, so the pressure it applies is more acute. The Mynt’s prongs/balls are larger, and therefore the pressure is a little better distributed across the surface area (more of a shiatsu feel, which should feel less targeted and more distributed). The buttons on the Etekcity are also easily pressed, meaning you can accidentally turn on the heat by leaning. And it gets very hot.Overall, I would spend the extra money on the Mynt if I had it to do over again. No, I don’t use the battery on the Mynt very often, but it’s a much more comfortable massage, and has the same horsepower. Other than the car charger, I don’t find any advantage with the Etekcity.

It’s been over a year since buying this

I bought the Etekcity massager to replace my broken back massager. At first I wasn’t sure if I liked it. It feels different, it moves at a different speed, it changes directions, etc. I was comparing the features to my broken down but familiar model that I had gotten used to. How much did I really like my old massager anyway? I bought it on sale from a local pharmacy and had gotten used to it. I didn’t like how the motor would lose power after using it for what didn’t seem like long enough to me. But I would just let it cool off for awhile and turn it back on until it stopped working again…so it really wasn’t that great. It was just familiar.I decided to make my decision based on reviews! Thank you to all of you other detailed reviewers! I skipped over the reviewers who received free or discounted products. I know they try to be unbiased, and many are, but how much someone actually likes something is absolutely skewed by how much they invested in it. I chose this model Etekcity massager because it is similar to my old burned out one, it has heat function that can be turned off (my old one didn’t have heat until it was about to shut off and finally until the cord burned where it connected to the unit so I was not sure I wanted heat), it has really really really good reviews, and the price was low enough that even if it didn’t work for a long time I would be okay replacing it without feeling like I had wasted my money on junk.I am happy to report I love it! I’ve had it for over a year now and it still works perfectly. I use it every day, sometimes more than once, and there have been no problems with the motor lagging or with anything else. It still looks as nice as the day it arrived. I am happy with my purchase and I recommend this to everyone who has back pain, tight muscles, or who just loves kneading massages. The one and only thing I’m not fond of is how easily the cord from the unit disconnects from the cord that goes into the wall/car adapter. It’s not the end of the world now that I’m aware of it. I am careful about positioning it so the cord is not hanging down right at the connection point.

    Worthless Product

I could not possibly hate this product more. What an absolute waste of money….If you want something that will generically clamp down on the back of your neck, you might get something out of this. But I’d note there are many, many cheaper options on Amazon that can do that for a whole lot cheaper than this thing. If you’re looking for something that will massage your upper back and/or massage and apply pressure to the knots in that area….This is NOT it, nor does it even come close to being successful at that.I’m not sure why the “bottom” massagers on this product are there at all. You’re paying for a function that has no purpose. They barely come into contact with my body and they accomplish nothing whatsoever. Now this product will lay around my house, unused because it’s was too expensive to just throw in a trash can…So I should’ve just flushed the money, at least that way I’d have the room in my linen closest back.***Be sure you reading reviews for the correct product. Most of these “good” reviews are for the lower end model

    Great for lying down…seriously!

I purchased this because I suffer from back and neck pain on a daily basis. I fell some years ago and ended up with a bulged disc and pinched nerves. I own large massagers but always wished they weren’t so large so I could lie in bed and get some relief instead of having to sit up all the time. This device solved my search. When lying on my side, I put a firm pillow behind me and prop it up a little to support my back and I place this massager between me and the pillow, then let it work on my aches. The size of it makes it convenient to move to various locations on my back and neck. The massage is deep but not painful and feels very soothing when the heat function warms up. It gives me a good amount of relief and relaxation and I especially like how I found a way to lie down while using it. I also like that it shuts off after a while because I tend to fall asleep with it massaging my back and when I wake up, I feel better than when I initially laid down. It’s a good price for what it offers and definitely saves money because I don’t have to pay a masseuse.
